Baby gate/ dog gate

Baby gates or dog gates can be useful barriers to keep our dogs safe in situations they are unsure about and also to allow them some space whilst enabling them to still see us. Dog gates are slightly higher than baby gates so can be used for bigger dogs or for dogs that can jump over baby gates. They are useful in creating consistent rules of access to areas of the house and setting a clearly defined routine. For some dogs, being able to see through the barrier but not access what is happening the other side can result in frustration (link to frustration in emotional motivations).
